Frank Welker replaced Weaving as the voice of Megatron in Transformers 4 and 5, as Welker had previous experience voicing the character in other iterations of the franchise, making him a perfect fit. Reply reply

The original G1 voice sounds a little out of place with movie Megatron (like in many of the Bayverse games), but Frank Welker uses a slightly different voice on Transformers the Ride that I think works really nicely!

Oct 13, 2021 · I think since Frank Welker (the second voice) also voiced G1 Megatron, he opted to go with a slightly altered version of his Megatron voice rather than do an impression of Leonard Nimoy’s Galvatron voice, because he was more comfortable with the Megatron voice and it audibly connected Megatron to Galvatron more.

I prefer Frank Welker for Megs - I think the raspy voice has a lot more character than the more generic deep evil voice Weaving uses (not that I think Weaving does a bad job at all). Plus Welker’s Megatron just has an absolutely filthy laugh.

According to Steve Blum (TFP Starscream), there's a voiceover trick named after Frank. When recording, he'd put his thumb and pinky between him and the mic to get a good recording distance (Like this: 🗣️🤘🎙️) This measurement is known as "a Welker away."

Dec 7, 2021 · Optimus and Megatron were the easiest to gather data for, as they're essentially "evergreen" models that can represent any incarnation of the characters played by Peter Cullen and Frank Welker respectively. I didn't have to rely solely on the G1 cartoon for either one.

I watched the behind the scenes footage of Michael Bay explaining how he created the first film and he stated that Frank Welker’s voice didn’t fit the look Megatron had. They played a comparison of 07 Meg with Frank Welker and yeah it was goofy af. It’s a damn shame they brought back Frank Welker for the 2 worst transformers movies.

May 27, 2022 · It's been like, what, years since Welker voiced Galvatron in a TV Series. But I'm not saying that because I want to hear his original Galvatron voice from the 80's, which I thought is a bit cringy (despite how entertaining it is).
