AFAIK it's pretty much just the natural reaction to cheaper speakers. They tend to put out most of their energy in the mids, so people smiley face by boosting the bass and highs in an attempt to resolve that. I'm not so sure why you'd want to do it on something with good reproduction, though.

Sep 6, 2020 · I get a small smiley face, and a little "female" symbol (circle with a small cross underneath) and a blinking line. Clicking any key sends me to BIOS, except I can't move the cursor or do anything. Can reboot into BIOS just fine, and I can boot from the old HDD with no issues. Tried different boot settings in BIOS to no avail.
