History. The first buildings of the town of Otari were built in the middle of the 43rd century AR by a group of ex-adventurers who called themselves the Roseguard. They built the settlement on a sheltered site south of Gauntlight Keep, a keep built by Belcorra Haruvex, who had been defeated by the Roseguard.

Otari got its name from Hosodas father because it is a village in the so-called Japanese Alps where senior Hosoda lived. In 2012, we contacted Otari to obtain more information and received the following response.

May 14, 2019 · A few months ago one of my best friends decided I needed a new audio affliction™ and gave the first of my current two OTARI tape recorders. Today I am the proud owner of two ancient Otari's; A 1983 vintage MX-5050BII-2 which arrived here sometime in late January if memory serves.

Otari was founded in 1965 as Otari Electric Co., Ltd., by Masayuki Hosoda. Based in Tokyo, the company was named after the village of Otari, where Hosoda had been born. From the start, the company targeted development of equipment supporting the audio recording industry.

Otari was a small but prosperous fishing village until the last of its founders, Aesephna Menhemes, died in 4290 AR. The remaining residents soon relocated elsewhere and by 4294 AR Otari was completely abandoned.

Jan 7, 2024 · As for the mine treasure, the OTARI MX5050 S2, it was made in the late 70s – beginning of the 80s. While the exact year of its production eludes me, a capacitor bearing the insignia of 1976 hints at its vintage.
