Going forward, because you don't have adequate storage at your apartment then why not rent a small storage space to save items you can store at home.

Jan 15, 2012 · As shipped by Apple, the 27" iMac is in a display box, and that inside a shipping carton. The external shipping carton dimensions for my 27" iMac (received early 2011) are 30.5" wide, 24.75" high, and 10" deep. The weight as marked on the carton was 41.8 lbs.

Oct 14, 2006 · The iMac Intel is not so heavy for the size, so I think there's less chance it will get dropped than a heavier iMac G5. I prefer the original box with the built-in handle that provides the carrier with a proper orientation, but the original styrofoam and proper placement of the iMac into it is probably the key to the design of the packaging.
