I am using my FT-818 in SSB only for contacts via QO-100 with very low power (less than 1W). The small compressor increased my overall signal level significantly and I can only recommend the kit to anyone using one of these small transceivers.

Used it with FT-817, FT-817ND and FT-857D. Sound quality is just is poor. Swapped out to a Signalink USB, special jumper setting done, and a USB62C cable, another adventure, and all is well.

IThe BX-184 microfone is the best accessory you can buy for your Yaesu Ft-817 or FT-818. Improves you modulation, much better than with the original microphone. Increases output and audio in SSB.
