Curtis Alan Jones[2] (born April 26, 1968), [3] better known by his stage name Green Velvet, is an American disc jockey, singer and record producer. He is also known as Cajmere, Geo Vogt, Half Pint, Curan Stone, and Gino Vittori. [4] Curtis Alan Jones was born [2] on April 26, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois. [3] .

His first track “Coffee Pot (It’s Time for the Percolator)” was released in 1992 as Cajmere on Clubhouse Records. That same year, Cajmere worked on production for “Get With U” by Lidell Townsell, then hooked up with another Chicago vocalist, Dajae.

Under the Cajual label, Cajmere released one hit after another including; “Say You Will”, “You Got Me Up”, “Horny” and many more well recognized hits. In 2009, he paired up with female vocalist and rapper Kid Sister for ‘Everybody Wants”.

Green Velvet (aka Cajmere) studied chemical engineering at the University of Illinois, where he exposed himself to the energetic culture and lifestyle of house. In 1991, midway though graduate school, Cajmere returned to Chicago to pursue his dream of producing house music.
