Jan 1, 2007 · I changed to Zerex G-05 about 1 1/2 years ago (and stopped using the FW 16 at that time). I have about 50,000 miles on the coolant & figure that it's time for a flush. I would rather wait until summer (and coolant would be up to 60,000 miles).

Not to mention that Valvoline/Zerex supplies the very same G-05 coolant used in Ford as factory fill "gold" to Daimler Chrysler (Mopar), Mercedes Benz, and John Deere (CoolGard). They just dye it a different color. So you could go to any one of those dealers for the same stuff too.

Oct 23, 2008 · The testing done on G-05 by Ford has lasted over 6 years, and we still see evidence of ongoing work. In addition to the original BASF / Valvoline / Zerex G-05, there exist qualified versions supplied by Honeywell (Prestone), CCI, Old World (Peak CF) and Recochem. The formulation is also very close to that of Deere CoolGuard.
