Jun 11, 2023 · Dear friends, I am pleased to inform you today of a sensational Zelenka musical manuscript discovery. A joint investigation with my Icelandic colleague Kjartan Óskarsson led us early last year to an European library where we uncovered a previously unknown 19th-century copy of Zelenka's Statio quadruples pro Processione Theophorica (ZWV 158).

Notes: This is the third volume of psalm settings performed by Ensemble Inégal and soloists. The CD contains some immensely beautiful works from Zelenka's pen: beginning with the brilliant choir-motet Da pacem Domine ZWV 167, then launching into a sequence of settings for one or more soloists that encompass a kaleidoscopic range moods and emotions, mostly ending in sophisticated fugal movements.

Jan 7, 2007 · To me it seems as if there really is a good Zelenka following. Many of the people who have contacted me over the past 5 years have been long-term followers of Zelenka's music and collectors of Zelenka CDs. Some have just "discovered" Zelenka and are hungry for more.

Zelenka must have been especially inspired when writing these motet-like pieces, since there is not a weak link among them: each one is a gem. The selection below thus only gives a flavour of the character and variety of these works, beginning with the dramatic Miserere ZWV 57, and ending in the brilliantly fiery Laetatus Sum ZWV 90.
