The C7 ZR1 was proudly proclaimed to be the most powerful Corvette ever produced. At this time that remains the case as the C8 Z06, while being no slouch, can’t touch those numbers.

As a result of the excess heat produced by forced induction, the ZR1 also gets a revised cooling system which features four more heat exchangers than the Z06, for a total of thirteen.

Oct 4, 2013 · Although it's not hard for me to imagine a rich doctor with ***** envy spending 70 grand on upgrading his R8 to compete with a lightly track modded ZR1 or Z06 that has 10-15 grand in it. The R8 was on stock tires, and I haven't personally seen a stock C6Z go sub 1:37 on factory tires at Road ATL, however that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

These cars have conversions from 500 stock HP to 725 HP at the Shelby conversion facilities; pretty amazing cars to run like this on premium pump gas.
