The AIATSIS map represents the language, social or nation groupings of Aboriginal Australia as recorded from the early years of colonisation. Each nation grouping, like Yuin Country, in turn includes numerous clans, dialects and languages.

The Yuin nation, also spelt Djuwin, is a group of Australian Aboriginal peoples from the South Coast of New South Wales. All Yuin people share ancestors who spoke, as their first language, one or more of the Yuin language dialects.

Yuin is the generic name for the different groups who occupied territory from Cape Howe to the Shoalhaven River and inland to the Great Dividing Range. A number of groups form the Yuin Nation, including the Wandiwandian, Dhurga, Bidewal, Walbanja and the Djiringanj.
