For the first half of Underverse Season 1, XTale!Chara would been trapped as part of Cross' soul, but by the latter half, they are able to use Underswap!Chara 's soul to grant him full control and thus power over the Overwrite button again. However, he soon lost the power to OVERWRITE in Underverse 0.4, and perished without a soul.

Cross has one white pupil and one red pupil, and a red lightning bolt shaped "scar" under his right eye socket, gained during his fight against XTale!Frisk before XGaster resets. His original soul was half an upside-down white monster soul and half a red human soul. He wears mostly black and white, same with the rest of the XTale cast.

Currently, the OVERWRITE button is in full form under XGaster, having his soul unified once more thanks to Ink!Sans' promise to keep his other half safeguarded from the X-Event. The origin of the OVERWRITE button is unknown.
