Apr 18, 2021 · yes, xorg also says no screens found with modesetting. Also interesting: when I did "Xorg -configure" (once with amdgpu, once with radeonkms), the xorg.conf resulted in an immediate reboot in both cases. I am booting via EFI, might that be the problem?

I was previously able to download "xorg-x11-apps-7.7-21.el8.x86_64.rpm" and install it on a CENTOS Stream 9 machine using: dnf localinstall ./xorg-x11-apps-7.7-21.el8.x86_64.rpm But when I try running the same command line on CENTOS 8 I get:

Aug 18, 2015 · It is no longer reliable and while it may successfully create and xorg.conf file, there is a good chance it won't work. X automatically configures itself quite well now without an xorg.conf file so you shouldn't need the file at all anymore unless you have some possibly uncommon hardware or are using an Nvidia card.
