The USS Prometheus (also known as the X-303 and later BC-303) was a BC-303 class starship. Prometheus was the first, and for a long time the only, deep-space battleship built by Stargate Command. The Prometheus entered service in 2366.

The experimental X-303, the third in a series of human designs that incorporate key systems and technology of alien origin, was built as a countermeasure to the Goa'uld mothership. It was constructed in a top secret project at Area 51 over a period of approximately two years and was one of several such ships planned.

It was developed under the designation X-303, named the Prometheus after its maiden flight (6.11 "Prometheus"), and given the upgraded designation of BC-303 after it proved its capabilities (7.07 "Enemy Mine"). The ship acted as Earth's first line of defense against alien space attacks, but was also used for exploration and humanitarian purposes.

The X-303 was built using both Earth-based and alien technology. Its design is based on that of a Earth naval battleship, having a long nose with a visible bridge area near the rear of the vessel. The X-303 was capable of both sublight and hyperspace travel.
