Wasabia
North Americas only commercial grower of high-quality water-grown authentic Wasabi (Wasabia japonica).
About – Wasabi Essentials Ltd
Wasabia japonica is a herbaceous perennial native to the wet banks of Japan’s cool mountain streams. It is a member of the Cruciferous family and traditionally used as a natural herb.
Anti-Cancer – Wasabi Essentials Ltd
Wasabia japonica contains a high concentration of 6-MSITC and may be the only commercially available source for this natural biomedically active molecule. An important point to be made here is that ITCs are efficacious against the cancerous cells but do no harm healthy cells.
Culinary – Wasabi Essentials Ltd
Wasabi is a staple condiment in Japanese cuisine and traditionally served with sushi, sashimi, soba noodles and other Japanese dishes. The leaves can be eaten fresh as a salad green, used as a flavour in foods or pickled fresh in sake brine or soy sauce.
Science & Biomedical - Wasabia
Numerous studies have demonstrated that Wasabia japonica contains a group of compounds called isothiocyanates and these compounds are very good for human health. Wasabi has been shown (Ina et al . 1990, Sakura et al . 1993) to possess more than twenty different isothiocyanates.

Neurodegenerative Diseases – Wasabi Essentials Ltd
Studies, mainly in the last decade, have shown that the 6MSITC of Wasabi can act to protect neurons and even cause them to grow (Shibata et al. 2008, Uchida et al. 2012, Trio et al. 2016, Subedi et al. 2017) indicating that this molecule can act to protect neurons and possibly prevent the associated neurodegenerative diseases (Morroni et al. 2014).
