This is an excellent example of a rare Steyr K98 purported to be part of an SS contract order fulfilled at Gusen camp. From Karem's book on the 98k, these rifles were coded 'bnz 43' on the receiver but assembled in early 1944.

Feb 3, 2022 · Here is my Steyr BNZ 43 SS K98 I have in my collection. I was told it was a concentration camp rifle (Gusen?) however no stamps have been found. The rifle is mismatched and has been refinished by someone along the way unfortunately.

Dec 25, 2023 · This gun was made for the Waffen SS through a partnership with Steyr. It was later captured by the Russians which you can tell by the plumb bolt release and electro penciled force matching as well as the x under the single rune lighting S symbol meant to represent the SS.
