Jan 30, 2021 · On long, mountain fire road descents, combined with the 120mm travel fork, it was great, but was terrible for climbing and pretty much anything else. So, on my next attempt at mtb conversion, I used a Niner frame with a 27.5 fork and a WTB Byway. Presto, now it felt more like a roadbike. I think what you describe is true.
