The company's basic line of for much of the 1960s, it was part of Mercedes' unified platform of "Fintail" (German: Heckflosse) models – first introduced as a six-cylinder Mercedes W111 in 1959.

Apr 1, 2019 · Turns out my w110.011 has the rear brake system of a w105 Ponton. Anyone looking for parts and diagrams, like I was, should look at the Niemoeller website. Also found the "intake muffler" rubber boot not shown as a w110 part but 113.

The 220a gained a second carburetor and was upgraded to become the 220S, shorly joined in the line by new distinctively bodied, shorter wheelbase two-door coupe and convertible models. A third saloon series, the W105 219 was created by grafting the six-cylinder nose onto the shorter body of the four-cylinder from the firewall aft.
