The W110 is a line of mid-size primarily inline four-cylinder executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1961 and 1968. The company's basic line of for much of the 1960s, it was part of Mercedes' unified platform of "Fintail" (German: Heckflosse) models – first introduced as a six-cylinder Mercedes W111 in 1959.

The Mercedes-Benz W105 was a four-door executive car manufactured by Daimler-Benz from 1956 to 1959 and marketed as the Mercedes-Benz Typ(e) 219. The ponton-styled Mercedes 219 was an effort by Daimler-Benz to offer an intermediate no-frills 6-cylinder model option.

The 220a gained a second carburetor and was upgraded to become the 220S, shorly joined in the line by new distinctively bodied, shorter wheelbase two-door coupe and convertible models. A third saloon series, the W105 219 was created by grafting the six-cylinder nose onto the shorter body of the four-cylinder from the firewall aft.
