When VSync is enabled and the frame rate drops below the monitor's refresh rate, the frame rate fluctuates wildly, causing visible stuttering. When VSync is disabled in-game, screen tearing is observed when the frame rate exceeds the refresh rate of the display (120 frames per second on a 60Hz display, for example).

Compatibility Mode : Right-click on the game's executable file, go to Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab. Is there anyway to turn the Vsync off in Windows 10? I tried disabling it in both graphics, and it´s still on. This makes my fps in the game Counter Strike GLobal Offensive lock at 60 fps. I searched threw the internet and it shows that is because of the Vsync, but It also says that vsync in windows 10 can´t be shut down.

Aug 28, 2018 · Or set vsync to run at half the fresh rate which kind of defeats the point of having a high refresh rate monitor. I find tearing to be much less noticeable in most games when running a game at say 100fps or higher on a high refresh rate monitor.

May 17, 2017 · Firstly the difference between adaptive and non Vsync is that regular Vsync locks the refresh rate to your monitors hz WHILE ABOVE THE MAXIMUM HZ, while adaptive vsync does the same except when it goes even one frame below 60 (or your monitors refresh rate), it will half the FPS so you won't get screen tearing.
