Dec 27, 2019 · VLTOR got involved and developed the A5 system which apparently "corrected" issues the USMC found when simply "attaching" the m4 lower to the USMC A4 upper. Bottom line is that the VLTOR A5 system is the "rifle" buffer system within a collapsible stock.

Mar 19, 2018 · Have had an Vltor A5 previously and have a few of the G Super 42s now. They're made for different reasons really, so not what I would call an apples to apples comparison. The A5 was a reliability modification solicited as an enhancement for the military. It works well and reduces felt recoil slightly. It does what they say it will do.

Sep 2, 2015 · Whatever you do, don't buy BCM's version of the A5. They skimp and use a cheaper, lighter 3.8oz buffer (barely more than a basic carbine buffer) but charge you the same price for a Vltor A5 kit which comes with a proper 5.2oz A5H2 buffer.

Apr 13, 2020 · I am, however, unable to find any information about product compatibility with the A5. Is anyone running a setup like this (A5 + cool-looking flat spring)? Another buddy, who works at Rainier Arms, suggested that I only use a VLTOR A5 spring.....although I am, also, unable to find any information about why. Any help would be rad! -Andrew

Dec 2, 2011 · Who has run the A5 on their middy and will Federal 55gr .223 be enough to cycle the reciprocating assembly or should I stick with a CAR or H buffer? It will be run with a Troy Vtac 11 over the factory FSB becoming a low profile gas block, and a YHM 556 QD brake for the 762 Titanium suppressor I'm about to Form 4.

Dec 2, 2018 · The A5 extension is 3/4 inch longer than the standard carbine receiver extension. Is the Vltor extension longer than the standard carbine extension ? If you use a standard carbine buffer in that set-up the bolt will travel too far to the rear and your gonna have problems.
