Fighter Squadron 126 (VF-126) was an aggressor squadron of the U.S. Navy, and were known as the Fighting Seahawks, and after 1981 as the Bandits. [1] The squadron was originally established as Attack Squadron 126 (VA-126) on 6 April 1956, it was redesignated VF-126 on 15 October 1965 and disestablished on 1 April 1994.

Oct 18, 2016 · VA-126 used the Grumman TF-9 Cougar for fleet instrument training. When the Skyhawk was being replaced as the fleet attack aircraft in 1967, "126", now VF-126, was already providing aircraft for aggressor training.

State Route 126 (SR 126) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known as Fairgrounds Road, the state highway runs 1.38 miles (2.22 km) from SR 179 in Onancock east to U.S. Route 13 Business (US 13 Business) and SR 316 at Tasley.

Jan 16, 2025 · Lieutenant Cernan completed flight school and qualified as Naval Aviator. Prior to being established as VA-127, the unit operated as VA-126 Detachment Alfa with a mission to provide basic and refresher all-weather jet instrument and transition training for pilots on the West Coast.

On 15 October 1965, the squadron was redesignated VF-126, and continued to provide adversary training to F-4 and F-8 squadrons deploying to the Vietnam War zone. In April 1967, VF-126 began replacing its TF-9Js with TA-4F Skyhawks, and eventually acquired A-4E/F and TA-4J Skyhawks as well.
