(turbo 1 went out at 183k, Turbo 2 lasted 7k miles and threw codes, had it warrantied and now Turbo 3 has just thrown P003A and P006F at 198k and is now outside the warranty period). Truck has weight reduction mod, Anarchy tuned (RIP) and MM3 tuner.

Sep 13, 2011 · I know that the 6.7L Cummins engine comes from the factory with the Holset He351ve turbocharger. If I wanted to put a slightly larger VGT on, what would be my best option? Keep in mind I would want to retain the factory exhaust brake.:confused013:

Jun 24, 2015 · Excellent explanation on why the VGT Turbo will fail. In addition, on most of the Cummins 6.7 l engines, at lest for the early models, the routing of the CVT air flow into the turbo caused a buildup of oil on the VGT. It required cleaning just as often as the CVT filter (30,000 miles) instead of the book value of 60,000 miles.

Feb 11, 2023 · It's diesel power sources turbonator vgt. I had a 362/68/12sxe on before and went with the turbonator just because I wanted cooler egts when I towed heavy. The turbo lights quick as hell and egts are definitely lower than my fixed geometry Turbo, but only when empty it seems.

Feb 24, 2014 · 6.7 Cast Turbo Elbow & Clamp 3rd Gen Downpipe For the electronic side, I'm using the Banshee VGT Controller as an interface to the turbo. This saves me a bunch of time/headaches trying to interface with the CAN BUS system. Keep in mind, that the Banshee controller is completely capable of running this turbo by itself.

Nov 24, 2024 · Ddp hooligan, stainless diesel vgt turbos or even calibrated powers all have good options. If you're looking for longevity and something reliable then I wouldn't count on a vgt as eventually you'll have actuator issues once again that's the one downside of a vgt along with higher egt and drive pressures.

Oct 11, 2014 · I have a 64mm Spectre Hybrid VGT which is similar to the Fleece Cheetah, it does make more power but if I had to do all over again I would have done an ATS add a turbo kit and will still go that route in the future being I do want to keep my exhaust brake and want more power. I have about 40k on the turbo, works good and spools good.
