VDAC1 - Wikipedia
Voltage-dependent anion-selective channel 1 (VDAC-1) is a beta barrel protein that in humans is encoded by the VDAC1 gene located on chromosome 5. [4][5] It forms an ion channel in the outer mitochondrial membrane (OMM) and also the outer cell membrane. In the OMM, it allows ATP to diffuse out of the mitochondria into the cytoplasm.

The voltage-dependent anion channel 1 (VDAC1) protein, is an important regulator of mitochondrial function, and serves as a mitochondrial gatekeeper, with responsibility for cellular fate. In addition to control over energy sources and metabolism, ...
Mitochondrial VDAC1: A Key Gatekeeper as Potential Therapeutic …
VDAC1 is the gatekeeper for the passages of metabolites, nucleotides, and ions; it plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis due to its interaction with apoptotic and anti-apoptotic proteins, namely members of the Bcl-2 family of proteins and hexokinase.
VDAC1 voltage dependent anion channel 1 [ (human)]
Data show that voltage-dependent anion channel 1 (VDAC1) knockout cells are resistant to AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) modulation by itraconazole, indicating VDAC1 is the mediator of the activity.
