Unit sphere - Wikipedia
An unit ball is the region inside of a unit sphere, the set of points of distance less than 1 from the center. A sphere or ball with unit radius and center at the origin of the space is called the unit sphere or the unit ball.
Ball (mathematics) - Wikipedia
A unit ball (open or closed) is a ball of radius 1. A ball in a general metric space need not be round. For example, a ball in real coordinate space under the Chebyshev distance is a hypercube, and a ball under the taxicab distance is a cross-polytope. A closed ball also need not be compact.
Volume of an n-ball - Wikipedia
An n-ball is a ball in an n-dimensional Euclidean space. The volume of a n-ball is the Lebesgue measure of this ball, which generalizes to any dimension the usual volume of a ball in 3-dimensional space.
Unit Balls for Different p-Norms in 2D and 3D - Wolfram Cloud
Dec 29, 2020 · In 2D, this Demonstration shows the norm functions as orange 3D shapes filled with blue water up to distance 1 from the origin. When this is viewed from above, the area filled with water is the 2D unit ball.
Unit Ball with p-norm - Mathematics Stack Exchange
The easiest unit balls to understand intuitively are the ones for the 2-norm and the 1-norm. Example 1: The 2-norm is simply the length of the vector ($\sqrt{x_1^2 + x_2^2}$ for the 2-dimensional case).
An interesting fact about the unit ball in high dimensions is that most of its volume is con-centrated near its “equator”. In particular, for any unit-length vector v defining “north”, most of the volume of the unit ball lies in the thin slab of points whose inner product with v has magnitude O(1/ √ d).

ALAFF Unit ball - University of Texas at Austin
Unit ball. Given norm \(\| \cdot \| : \Cm \rightarrow \mathbb R \text{,}\) the unit ball with respect to \(\| \cdot \|\) is the set \(\{ x ~\vert ~ \| x \| = 1 \} \) (the set of all vectors with norm equal to one).
What is the 4-dimensional measure of the unit ball in R4? I plan to derive a satisfying answer is several (slightly) different ways. Before be-ginning, let me remind you that we have a notation for such quantities: We let the symbol ωn denote the n-dimensional measure of the n-dimensional unit ball. ωn = Ln(B1) = 1.
Mathematical distinction between unit sphere, unit ball, unit box …
Oct 13, 2019 · The unit ball is defined to be the set of points whose distance to the origin is less or equal to 1 1, so it is defined by the inequality x2 +y2 +z2 ≤ 1 x 2 + y 2 + z 2 ≤ 1. In the unit cube, I don't know why you require xyz = 1 x y z = 1, for instance, the point (0, 0, 0) (0, 0, 0) is in the cube but the product of its componets is 0 0.
