This article shows how to configure the telemetry ports (aka serial ports) on the autopilot. The instructions use the Pixhawk but they apply for most autopilots. On a Pixhawk there are a total of 5 serial ports. The default use of each port is: The micro USB port (aka Serial0) is used to connect to the ground station using a USB cable.

PX4 running on Pixhawk-series flight controllers can connect to a companion computer using any free configurable serial port, including the Ethernet port (if supported). See Companion Computers for information about supported hardware and general setup.

Mar 27, 2019 · As far as I know from previous Pixhawk designs, the USB port is duplicated on a different connector. This allows to extend the USB wiring to another socket. This can handy if the Pixhawk is inside a plane and the USB port is not accessible.

I’m using a USB-TTL adapter and I can establish a connection (in my case I use a ROS-System with Ubuntu).
