If you live in zone 8 or further north, you'll need to dig them Reduce the amount of water you give your tuberoses beginning three weeks prior to the expected date of the first hard frost. This will allow the foliage to gradually dry up.

Apr 22, 2006 · I was reading all of your posts and got curious, so I got out a book I have on bulbs by John Bryan called, appropriately, "Bulbs." He states under the "Cultivation" heading for Polianthes tuberosa that "Tuberose plants flower every other year; once a crown has flowered it splits, and another season of growth is required before flowering.

Aug 5, 2006 · Since I have my tuberose patches in locations that range from shady to sunny to parts inbetween and none of the areas bloom, not enough fertilizer is probably the cause. Water regime is different from spot to spot too, so fertilizing, or lack thereof, was the common demoninator. I fertilize on a hit or miss basis - whenever I think about it.

Several years ago I purchased ten single flowered tuberose from Tennessee Tuberoses. I received nine very tiny rhizomes. Three of the rhizomes were about the size of a pea. Four of the rhizomes had some kind of virus, their leaves were irregularly striped and stippled with yellow and were immediately destroyed.
