Apr 20, 1995 · The Totem Model 1 is a small two-way reflex design featuring a 5" Dynaudio midwoofer with a large cast-frame basket and a 3" voice-coil, a 1.1" metal-dome SEAS tweeter, and a very rigid cabinet. Joints are lock-mitered.

At 12.5" high by 6.5" wide by 9" deep and weighing 9 lbs, the Model 1 is a relatively small speaker. The original design married a 1" aluminum-dome tweeter from SEAS with a 6.5" plastic-cone Dynaudio woofer that had a 3" voice-coil and an oversized dustcap that actually radiated much of the sound.

Jan 25, 2023 · The Arro is still currently on Totems catalogue but the Model 1 is only available on the Signature version, much more expensive. I have the Arro (love’em) and but I wonder if the Model 1 is superior, specially in the bass quality? Does anyone have any experience in comparing these two models?

Nov 17, 2018 · I'm listening to the Barton Hollow CD by The Civil Wars through a Sony CD player and HK Avr II receiver. The speakers are Totem Model 1 and a Miller and Kriesel Sub. To me, the sound is heavenly. The Totems are the cleanest speaker I've ever heard. How much better does it get? Am I even close to audiophile listening ?

Jan 26, 2023 · The Totem Model 1 Signatures sound as good as the Dynaudio special 40’s ($4500) for half the price! These Totem speakers have a beautiful Dynaudio main driver with a lovely 3 inch voice coil. The inside of the cabinet has some space age NASA material that dampens the cabinet tremendously.
