
Can I update a 10+ year old Tivo box for a 360 box?
The Tivo box hardly receives any red button sports now (especially on the football), just does not tip into those services. We had the Tivo box +10 years now (the Tivo used to be in the lounge), can I apply to Virgin to replace the Tivo to a V6 box.

Dec 3, 2024 · The box is clearly faulty, you should report it. Faulty TiVo's are now replaced with V6, which run the same software but on a much newer box with more recording tuners, more apps and generally much quicker operation. VM staff tend to respond on this forum if you don't mind waiting a few days, otherwise calling in should elicit a quicker response.

Feb 16, 2025 · Are you sure you have V6 & not TV360? The physical box is the same, but V6 runs TiVo-software and has the TiVo-logo in the top-right corner next to the video preview... TV360 doesn't. Also TV360 has a voice-controlled remote, V6 doesn't. Pixellation is how digital-TV handles a signal fault.

That's a V6, you could also confirm the TiVo-software by checking the video preview screen in the top-right of the UI - does it have the TiVo logo? There's two requirements here, that I don't see confirmed in the previous posts.

You don't mix boxes on the same account - you either have all TiVo/V6 or all TV360. Connectivity is otherwise identical - every VM TV box needs a co-ax for live TV and internet connection (ideally Ethernet to your home-hub) for online services & streaming.

Is the box losing recording's or having problems pausing and rewinding live TV if it is then the box is probably faulty having to sign into apps all the time is another symptom. Apart from getting a new TV have they only just switched to 360 from a V6 TiVo.
