Feb 1, 2023 · (VOVWORLD) - People’s Teacher and People’s Artist Thai Thi Lien, mother of People’s Artist Dang Thai Son, passed away at her home on January 31 at the age of 106.

Under cover of night, with the moonlight as their beacon, Thai Thi Lien, her 7-year-old son and 400 music students and faculty slipped away to safety, away from the city. They took along an unusual piece of furniture: a piano.

Thái Thị Liên (4 tháng 8 năm 1918 – 31 tháng 1 năm 2023 [1]) là nghệ sĩ dương cầm người Việt Nam. Bà là một trong số nữ danh cầm đầu tiên của Việt Nam tiên phong đồng sáng lập Học viện Âm nhạc Quốc gia Việt Nam, [2] mẹ của nghệ sĩ nhân dân Đặng Thái Sơn và Trần Bạch Thu Hà, [3] và là người thầy của nhiều nghệ sĩ dương cầm nổi tiếng.

People’s Teacher, People’s Artist Thai Thi Lien passed away at her home on January 31 in Hanoi at the age of 106. Ms. Lien was born in 1918. She was one of the first Vietnamese female pianists at the Vietnam Music School (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music).
