Thancred Waters [ˈθæŋk.rɛd ˈwɔː.tərz] is a character in Final Fantasy XIV, introduced as the Scion representative for players who start in Ul'dah and appearing throughout subsequent expansions as an ally of the Warrior of Light.

A member of the Scions, Thancred grew up in the backstreets of Limsa Lominsa, and spent his adolescence snatching purses with a band of petty thieves. One day, he targeted an Elezen man who had come to the maritime city-state to study aether.

Thancred Waters is a male Hyur and a core member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Thancred was raised in Limsa Lominsa 's back alleys and spent his teenage years stealing purses with a group of small-time criminals.

Thancred basically decides to use his Gunbreaker training to protect Minfilia/Ryne after rescuing her on the First. He takes the reborn Oracle of Light on as an apprentice, and although his love for her previous incarnation complicates things at first, the two eventually become good friends again.

Thancred is an interesting case. While Thancred’s original sculpt was based on a player character face - that being male Midlander face 1 - it was in fact a custom sculpt, impossible to recreate using the in-game character creator.

Trick Attack is a free and instant turn skill which increases all of Thancred’s buffs by 1 turn. It resets stacks of Wish within a Name and inflicts Trick Attack debuff on all targets. Trick Attack boosts the HP Damage taken of the target.

Ever the charmer, Thancred never misses an opportunity to woo a lovely lady with verses of adulation. This foppish facade, however, conceals many secrets, not the least of which is his puissant skill with a dagger.
