Feb 9, 2012 · They are there, they just aren't in places easy accesable and I don't mean just walking wise. Private, rez and land locked by the two previous. It takes a long time and talking to the right people to find them. It took me years to find sheep there but they are there! Took my first sheep in Unit 9 this year after 4 years of looking. Tahr is next.

Dec 8, 2017 · For longer trips and carrying a good bit of gear I'm still a fan of the Timberline 1 internal frame. Comfortable, and a good pocket layout. For shorter trips the Bikini frame and the Tahr work well for me.....just carried out a whitetail in it.

It's a simple bag that you can compress or fill way up to 4000+ cu in. Kifaru seems very conservative on their sizes because the Tahr seems way bigger than 3400 cu in. It will easily fit the gear needed to hunt elk in warm weather for 4 days/3 nights and still just barely go over the top of a 24" frame.

Aug 3, 2017 · A EXO 3500 costs, $550-$575 plus shipping. A Kifaru hunter frame is $336 with Aluminum stays. A 3400 CI, solid colored Tahr from Kifaru costs $224. Now, I'm not the smartest guy in the world but, those two numbers from the frame and the Tahr bag equal Exactly $10 more than the solid color EXO 3500 costs.

Aug 3, 2023 · The standoff carried on until dark. We went back the next morning after an all-night blizzard, and the goats were still down there! … not sure if they ever made it back out. One thing I am fairly sure of is that our bear did not morph into a tahr and fall down the mountain.

I've used them on two different hunts (New Zealand stag & tahr as well as free range aoudad)and one fishing trip to Alaska. Nice folks and seem to be really in touch with the outfitters they represent. In the case of each of my bookings they had actually done them themselves.
