The World: Alternative Universe (commonly referred to as "TWAU") is the Stand of Alternate Diego Brando, a secondary antagonist of Steel Ball Run, Part 7 of JJBA. Similar to its original counterpart, it possesses incredible strength, precision, speed, and durability. It also has the ability to stop time.

It can be obtained by using the Rib Cage of the Saint's Corpse, with a 20% chance of obtaining, and a 0.5% chance of getting a The World: Alternate Universe skin. TWAU focuses more on ranged combat, unlike its arrow counterpart, The World, due to its decreased knife cooldowns and access to another ranged option -- the revolver.

Holding C and R will cause TWAU to move forwards and be ready to chop an opponent's leg off. This does damage and then Damage Over Time and halves the opponent's walkspeed. Holding or pressing T will either cause TWAU to move forwards and throw stronger knives or not move and throw weaker knives.

To obtain this stand, there are 2 routes. Go to the Central Wilds and talk to Him to receive his quest to obtain The World. Complete the quest the player will receive the Blood of Joseph. The player must then use the Blood of Joseph on Shadow DIO to evolve it into The World.
