They were offered with a 4.2 litre version of the TVR speed six engine and a suggested 450bhp. As the total weight was around 1,000kg this was double the power to weight ratio of a Porsche 911 Turbo! It used a TVR in house design of sequential six speed gearbox and TVR quoted a top speed of over 200mph carrying four adults.

With plenty of power for its light weight, carbon fibre body and trademark aggressive styling, the Tuscan was naturally suited to motorsport. The competition model was known as the T400R and this particular car was the first of seven chassis produced in 2001, specifically to go racing.
