The Transpac 52 (TP52) is a class of yacht used for competitive 52 Super Series yacht racing, and the Audi MedCup previously, besides the world championship of the class. The class is recognised by the International Sailing Federation which entitles the class to hold an Official World Championships.

FRAM XVI a fourth generation Farr® Transpac 52, built by Cookson Boats of New Zealand, was developed to compete in both the European and US Transpac 52 competitions. Design #590 was developed to meet the demands of a specific selection of Mediterranean venues.

The TP52 Class has grown from a non registered club of like minded yachtsmen to a fully member controlled, registered and World Sailing recognized Class, with a proper constitution and an Executive Committee and Class President chosen by and from its members.

One of the yachts that inspired the TP52 Boxrule, launched 1999. Locomotion, an Andrews 45 was another forerunner that had all the characteristics of a fast, easy to sail offshore boat.

The 2011 TP52 has all the features that you know of the IRC converted TP52’s and IRC custom racers. Bowsprit, square head main, all ballast in the keel, even lighter displacement and more sailarea.

By popular demand the 2025 52 SUPER SERIES returns to two venues which were new to the circuit in 2022 and 2023.
