THCa is just thc in its acid form. It is thc in every way chemically and irl. To get THCa into thc you just have to decarb it (which takes away the acid group which is c02 in this case). If you heat diamonds to make a distillate, you will see it bubbling, that is the acid (c02) releasing from the THCa thus converting it to thc.

THCA becomes THC when it is heated to about 210 (decarbing). This happens naturally when smoking but is why you won't get high from eating raw cannabis.

Eating THCa that is not heated would be what they reference when they say it "isn't psychedelic" but it would still be psychoactive, more along CBD though when compared to inhaling heated THCa. Look for CBD distillate vapes (3 chi has a cartridge line that you can select effects like calm, focus, sleep etc) that are THC free.
