May 1, 2003 · The original version was LS3/5, using crossover FL6/16 from 1970. This used the KEF B110 A6362, the original B110 4-8 ohm version (nominal 6 ohms), and the original KEF T27 A6340 with a clear mylar dome and black plastic case.

The very original one was LS3/5, FL6/16 from 1970 and used the B110 A6362, the original 4-8 ohm version, and T27 A6340 with the black plastic case. The 8 Ohm version of this model A6535 was never used in any LS3/5 system.

Both the early 15 ohm and the 11 ohm LS3/5A used the KEF T27 Type SP1032 tweeter. NB. The earlier LS3/5 (without the A) used the T27 A6340. The commonest problem found is an open circuit T27. In this case the only practical solution is to replace the unit.

Nov 22, 2023 · The original tweeter was a Kef T27 (A6340) which was a rebranded Seas H086, Rogers (and later BBC Models) used the KEF derrivation of that H086 tweeter but with a mylar dome in stead of the original coated fabric of the H086 that they called the T27 SP1032.
