ACIS-- acoustic performance thread - Supra Forums
Feb 13, 2007 · Using laws of inertia, thermodynamics and physics the toyota engineers discovered that the opening and closing of the intake valves creates acoustic energy pulses that bounce around inside the intake manifold and chamber. They then developed a system, called ACIS, to control and manipulate those acoustic pulses to create a "supercharging" effect.
What is this "Actuator" on the intake? | Supra Forums
Aug 23, 2021 · It's the ACIS, or 'Acoustic Control Induction System' in Toyota-speak. Basically it's closed at low RPM (under vacuum) for nice long intake paths for torque, and open at high RPM (zero vacuum) to shorten air paths/play games with acoustics/use 80's engineering witchcraft to improve top end.

Circuit inspection 2JZ-GE engine - Diagnostics - Toyota Supra
This circuit opens and closes the IACV (Intake Air Control Valve) in response to the engine load in order to increase the intake efficiency (ACIS: Acoustic Control Indication System). When the engine speed is 4,500 rpm or less and the throttle valve opening angle is 30° or more, the ECM turns the VSV ON and closes the IACV.
Converting NA single intake to ACIS Y-intake? - Supra Forums
Jun 29, 2022 · Has anyone ever tried converting from the regular to ACIS intake? Or vice versa? If so, how big of a difference would it make?
Acoustic Control Induction System - FT86club.com
Mar 19, 2011 · ACIS is a bit different than TVIS, but they are sort of similar. ACIS is dealing with sound pressure waves to increase air into the motor, whereas TVIS is dealing with the inertia/speed of the intake air.
N/A ACIS Mod [Archive] - mkiiisupra.net - UK Mk3 Toyota Supra …
Basically, the ACIS is a valve powered by an actuator operating by vacuum pressure that closes when engine revs past 3900 rpm to give better high end power. When it's open, it theoretically gives more low end torque.
NA Y Branch/ACIS image - Supra Chat - The mkiv Supra Owners …
Aug 3, 2017 · Evening, Does anyone have an image of the underside of a Y branch from an NA with the hoses connected? I think I've got a routing issue, I've also got a problem with the ACIS and want to check the correct hose is going to it. I've googled and youtubed with no luck and the Toyota technical image m...
2JZ-GE Butterfly Valve in Intake Manifold? - Supra Forums
Jun 16, 2008 · If you look at the output LS5, you can see if ACIS is active or not. I'd bet it isn't unless you specifically asked your tuner about using it. I don't believe the ACIS valve would cause any problem like that.
