Nov 3, 2016 · Interesting Polish/Austrian WW2 MAUSER Rifle Variant! Here we present a Third Reich German Steyr “660” Code 1940 Date K98 Mauser Rifle, manufactured in 1940. These 660 code rifles are very scarce as the code changed shortly after production began. Parts came both from Steyr as well as the captured Polish Radom plant.

This is an excellent example of a rare Steyr K98 purported to be part of an SS contract order fulfilled at Gusen camp. From Karem's book on the 98k, these rifles were coded 'bnz 43' on the receiver but assembled in early 1944.

Guaranteed original and authentic. This is a late WW2 production nazi K98 made in the Steyr factory. The rifle is stamped on the receiver "BNZ 4". The single digit "4" is significant to show this was late 1944 production. This explains why the stock lacks waffen proofs or a serial number.
