After just several minutes of listening to the XBA-N3 (N3) there was no doubt in my mind where Sony got the inspiration for the legendary IER-Z1R. The unmistakable house sound runs in the veins of the N3, which won’t appeal to everyone, but so is everything in life.

Oct 21, 2022 · The XBA-N3 belongs to the XBA family, and it was released about 6 years ago. This IEM has the Sony house sound DNA through and through - deep, thumpy bass, neutral midrange and well-extended treble. In the current cut-throat IEM market, the XBA-N3 seems to have been forgotten.

May 19, 2023 · The N3 is a hybrid in-ear that includes a Sony 9mm dynamic driver and a balanced armature. The design was unique at the time with its large cylindrical chamber that housed the dynamic driver and the BA driver was located below it, with both pushing sound through tubes at the nozzle.

Mar 10, 2023 · I have the N3 and E5000, N3 has a very good version of a V shaped sound, great bass but its not like a full on basshead type IEM if that is what you want. Its very nicely tuned, vocals and acoustic instruments sound great.
