A "son of man" could not survive the heat of the king's furnace, but a Son of Man could. That is the point: Jesus as the Son of Man (and God) is the perfect representative for our fallen race. He was and is the Second Adam who, though in "the form of a bond-servant . . . and in the likeness of men . . . humbled Himself . . .."

Dec 8, 2021 · For fulfilling this role, we should say Son of Man, this is, he was a human person, with desires, fears and so on. According to the trinity , as being the Second Person, and G'd, he is fully human and fully divine. In Mark 10:45, we see his human way to deal with things, using the term Son of Man:

The sign was actually a person, "one like a son of man", in Daniel. The title "Son of Man" evolved in Jewish culture from Daniel 7:13. I was watching in the night visions, “And with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man was approaching. He went up to the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him." The phrase "like a son of man" evolved in to "the son of man" being a title for the Messiah.

Ezekiel is the only prophet regularly referred to by God as "son of man" (ben adam). This is particularly interested to Christians since Jesus took the title "Son of Man" upon himself (ὁ υἱός τοῦ ἀνθρώπου). I have heard three primary interpretations of this passage: It is connected to Daniel 7:13 and is Messianic.
