Can someone direct me as to how I would change the Grain direction on an applied 'Wood Finish'. I need to match a Grain direction in order to correctly view the product and the design. Solid Works continues to automatoically assign the Grain direction in any which way 'she' seems to feel approriate.... And it is sometimes random and arbitrary.

Can any one please help me to find out the Properties of the OAK, Pine, Balsa & Poplar (General properties for simulation). Hi All Does anybody know how I can model a realistic wood grain for use in mould tooling (not just a visual effect but a real grained surface). I need to model a product that is tooling ready with the wood grain finish included.

I am creating a wood plaque to be used with a CNC router with extrude cutting text on the surface. The text is in Old English font with the word "STRONGHOLD." However, when I try to extrude cut, the "L" is not selected and does not cut into the wood. With other fonts, this letter works fine but sometimes other letters do not cut.

The application is wood, and the parts are simple enough to build them in the correct orientation. answers ...

After changing parts to be transparent in a final assembly, turning them back to their original non transparent state takes off the appearance of the parts that were transparent. For example, the wood look turns back into the original solidworks grey (no appearance) yet the sub assembly files alone are still the same.

I'm trying to install the latest SolidWorks update. 2024 SP3.1. I'm in the installation manager and ready to download the necessary files, but "Download Now" is greyed out.
