I've found the TDA1547 very responsive to improvements in power supply. Almost every improvement to supply (eg. good film bypass cap, Ocson for digital supply cap, etc) is rewarded with improvement in sound. So my experience is that op2134 and lm6172 work well with the dac.

Sep 19, 2024 · I have tried NOS in two dac (one with ad1864/pmd100) other with (pcm1702/sm5813) on had RCRCRC filtering another Sallen Key . in both cases NOS sound is midrange forward, houty unclear and not refined hights and quite flat in terms of depth.

Dec 23, 2007 · The main very helpfull thing is that SM5843 chip has onboard pull-up resistors inside and designers of this DAC didn't connect them to the board. Furthermore we have 74HC04 with free legs to invert XTI from YM3623 (oA pin 8).

Oct 18, 2020 · Is almost orginal, I only changed digital filter from pure NPC SM5803 to one of the best BB DF1704. I changed OPA from AD845 to discrete. Sounds good but I want to put it to big chasis and add some extra valve analog.

Aug 5, 2021 · There is no oversampling without a digital filter. Take a look at the datasheets of, say, some classic NPC jobs like the SM5803 (or the OG, the Philips SAA7030). At their core they consist of a cascade of zero insertion and half-band filter stages, doubling fs every time.
