Skyscanner - safe to buy tickets??? - Rick Steves
Dec 13, 2012 · This is actually quite common with travel websites, not just with Skyscanner. Off the top of my head, I can think of seeing this regularly on Kayak and Orbitz – a good fare isn't really available once you start clicking through to purchase. It wastes a lot of time and, obviously, isn't all that helpful for purchasing IMHO.
Possible silly question about Skyscanner - Rick Steves
Jul 14, 2018 · That is true, kellis. I have also noticed though that some ticket sellers listed in SkyScanner offer to "protect" you - that is, if your first flight is late and you miss the second one, they would be responsible for getting you on a later flight. I assume that would apply even with a change in airports.
Was it a big mistake to buy an airline ticket from Skyscanner
Apr 9, 2022 · I've used Skyscanner in the past and it's been fine. People warn against booking through such sites, because it's easier to deal with a problem, if one arises, if you've booked directly with the airline. But that doesn't mean that the site is bad or a scam.
Skyscanner Success! - Rick Steves Travel Forum
4 days ago · Skyscanner is a website, kind of like KAYAK but offering cheaper connecting flights. We also wanted to spend 4 days in Paris before starting our tour. Imagine the following airline plans: French Bee to Paris, Air Italia to Palermo, Ryan Air from Cantania to Rome, West Jet to Calgary, Alaska Airlines to Portland, OR.
Multi-city vs two one way tickets - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Nov 17, 2022 · What is the general advantage of booking multi-city instead of two one way tickets. I was on Skyscanner, used multi-city, and chose booking with the airline. Google Flights, Kayak, or ? or ? Which is "better" - Rick Steves
Jul 12, 2024 · Kayak is owned by the parent company of Priceline. Skyscanner is Chinese owned. Google Flights makes most of its money by selling the software to airlines and travel companies and a small amount from bookings. Kayak and Skyscanner make their money from ticket sales via …
Is "Hop2" legitimate? - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Jan 28, 2018 · Hello - Skyscanner directed me to a website named "Hop2" for my U.S./Europe flight. The price quoted is unbelievably cheap, the schedule is perfect and it's on a major carrier.
Is FareBoom a good place to book your flights through?
Dec 27, 2017 · No, avoid it and all 3rd party vendors. I am a proponent of Skyscanner as it is a time saver and finds great fares which I then buy FROM THE AIRLINE ITSELF. If your flights are cancelled, delayed or anything else happens to a flight that you buy via a 3rd party, you must be able to reach someone at the 3rd party, not the airline to resolve the prob
Airfare to Sicily - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Feb 24, 2025 · The risk in using Skyscanner or Google Flights to shop for fares is that they always show the lowest available economy fare [when you specify economy] which is usually basic economy/economy lite, with typically no checked bag, no seat selection, and not changeable. Plus the lowest fares they offer may be from vendors of questionable integrity.
Best way to travel from Rome to Palermo - Rick Steves
Jun 1, 2016 · It's a long way via ground transportation (trains). Like 12 hours. Flying is the best way to go (1 hour). But if you already have a eurail pass you might as well use it, I guess.
