Borivli National Park was re-named Sanjay Gandhi National Park, and was subsequently couled with more forests from the Thane division to make the 103.84 sq.km. of SGNP known today.

The SGNP is amongst the most easily accessible National Parks in the country, well connected by road and rail networks. Given here are the directions and travel details to access SGNP from different directions in Mumbai.

The NIC is like a road map to SGNP’s tremendous biodiversity. On the pathway to the center, sits a model representation of the park, beautifully depicting the geographical layout and forming an actual gateway into the urban wilderness of SGNP.
