Menmaatre Seti I (or Sethos I in Greek) was the second pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt during the New Kingdom period, ruling c. 1294 or 1290 BC to 1279 BC. [4][5] He was the son of Ramesses I and Sitre, and the father of Ramesses II.

Seti I (flourished 13th century bce) was an ancient Egyptian king of the 19th dynasty (c. 1292–c. 1191 bce) who reigned from c. 1290 to c. 1279 bce. His father, Ramses I, reigned only two years, and it was Seti who was the real founder of the greatness of the Ramessides.

Seti is often seen as the Egyptian Pharaoh in the Biblical Moses story. His tomb was the largest and most extravagant of all sepulchers in the Valley of the Kings.
