Mar 29, 2010 · I ended up buying the Sako M591. Kind of interesting, it was rebarreled by GA Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor, pillar bedded, and the bolt was lapped and trued. It has their stamp on the side, so I hope it will live up to their usual accuracy.

I get a little confused on the time line on Sako's but I think they made the Sako M-591 (short action) just before the started making the Sako model 75 in the mid 1990's.

Dec 5, 2014 · Does anyone have much knowledge of the Sako 591 action? I have a LH model that has been rebarreled to 243 in a varmint configuration. It sits in a McMillan stock. I've learned the M591 is a medium action and the "91" series was replaced by the 75 in the mid to late 70's but that' about all the information I can gather on it.
