Apr 16, 2020 · SP7 - throttling on USB-C charger I have problem with performance of my SP7 (i5, 16GB ram, 256GB ssd) while connected to USB-C monitor. The case is - after some time of heavy load, CPU throttling kicks in (which is totally understandable with that kind of computer and passive cooling), and the CPU clock locks somewhere around 900MHz.

Feb 17, 2023 · I just went through the most recent Win11 update (see screen captures), and not my SP7+ is lagging TERRIBLY. Low processor, memory, and SSD usage. Processor is running at 0.19GHz. Yes, ZERO POINT ONE-NINE. Everything is taking 10 times as long as normal, and my battery is draining while plugged in. Something is very, very wrong here.

Mar 27, 2020 · SP7 Battery life problem Hi, I'm a big fan of Surface series, and recently bought a Surface Pro 7, before this device I had a surface Book with approximately 9 hours long lasting battery life, but for my brand new SP7 it takes 3 to max 4 hours.

Apr 10, 2020 · We have 2 SP7 devices where the SD cards just randomly eject themselves. It is a huge pain. In fact, when we bought our SP7 devices in Dec. 2019, it was such a problem that after attempting to fix it, the Microsoft store exchanged the devices. Yah, didn't fix the problem.

Jun 14, 2021 · I owned a few SP7, and all of them were defective: while being turned on they charged extremely slowly, and in addition, they did not charge above 75% or so. Everything was fine though if charging it while being turned off. One of the main reasons for this is, probably, overheating while charging. It seems that this is a common problem.

Jan 3, 2020 · Thanks for your prompt reply. Seems I need to carry around 'another' bulk USB C charger. I was hoping with the SP7 poor battery life, my mobile phone battery charger would be helpful for quick top ups. It appears I will have to just carry around the SP7 charger and a USB C cable for my phone (sigh).
