To verify that NVIDIA SLI technology is enabled and working. From the NVIDIA Control Panel navigation tree pane, under 3D Settings, select Set SLI configuration. From the menu bar, click 3D Settings, then click the drop-down menu item Show SLI Visual Indicator. The following images indicate that SLI technology is active.

Under Select the SLI configuration, click Maximize 3D performance. The GPU configuration visualizer shows the pending SLI configuration as well as the display connections and enabled state of the displays. The SLI bar indicates the SLI mode (SLI, 3-way SLI, Quad SLI, or 4-way SLI) and points to the GPUs that are used for SLI. Click Apply.

If possible, SLI rendering may still be enabled. GPU Configuration Visualizer: The GPU configuration visualizer shows the system configuration for the current selected options. Jun 30, 2015 · Going SLI is quite nice, it should defeat GTX980Ti. nVidia plans to reduce the price of the GPUs (GTX980, GTX980Ti, etc.) to hold competition with AMD, I would wait until the discount really happens before getting the second GTX980.

Under the "SLI configuration" section, click the radio button that says "Maximize 3D performance." The PhysX section can be left alone.

Mar 30, 2013 · Nvidia SLI does not work with cards of different memory sizes. You would be much better of selling the GTX550ti and getting a faster better card, paring lower end GPUs in dual setup is never a good idea.

Jul 4, 2013 · Note that you can plug them into any port on either of the cards. I usually keep all my screens connected to the primary card to keep it simple. To enable SLI, open nVidia control panel. Under Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX, select Maximize 3D performance. Done. The power supply in that rig is plenty and then some for SLI.
