How good is the HK SL8? Worth purchasing? | HKPRO Forums
Oct 10, 2022 · Regarding the SL8, it depends a little on what you are going to use it for. In terms of appearance, the model undoubtedly has a rather unique design. Some love it and others hate it. I remember when the model arrived I thought it looked really strange. After shooting a whole bunch of these over the years it has grown a lot in my eyes though.
H&K SL8 Optics | HKPRO Forums
Aug 27, 2009 · I went with a number of rail options for my SL8-6. I immedaitely got a long SL8-1 rail and have "iron" sights attached to both ends that allows me to also attach optics. I then picked up another SL8-1 long rail and chopped off the front part and attached HK "iron" sights (but with a shorter sight radius) as well as a red dot.

May 25, 2008 · My preferred setup right now is an SL8 handguard (very light), 3x carry-handle optic, and my fixed stock conversion that you see in the pics above. This is the lightest configuration that I've found, and makes the gun very easy to shoot for extended periods or when shooting from barricades or taking carbine courses.
Sl8 conversion. How to do it the right way? UPDATE
Aug 27, 2021 · Toms a good guy, but your factory perfect German SL8 receiver is now more JB Weld, random plastic, and spray paint than German SL8 now. That weird smell stinking up your safe is indeed spray paint, and that stench isn't going anywhere. Buy one of his TG36 rifles and hope it doesn't get declared as an MG.. again. Conversions are for the birds.

Honest outlaw SL8 review - HKPRO Forums
Sep 6, 2023 · The SL8 is an odd rifle, but I like it for what it is: reliable (eats any ammo), precise (around 1-2 MOA) and the closest thing we can readily buy from HK that comes close to the G-36. Definitely, the SL8 is not for everyone.
My SL8 to G36 Hybrid conversion review with a few upgrades
Feb 26, 2016 · I had my sl8-6 to psg8 done by Tommy B, great job. He did the mag well conversion. Looks great and function perfect. Took 2 weeks because he was waiting for the PSG8 stock parts. Bought the psg8 stock from him. Got a G36 trigger group off the GB. Transplant the trigger group to the PSG8 stock.

May 28, 2010 · The SL8 has a large depression on the right side which prevents acceptance of the wider double-stacked mags. This depression is what must be removed (along with other minor milling in the cavity). Milling out of the depression does reduce torsional rigitity of the receiver and exposes a large "window" under the ejection port.

Mar 12, 2014 · From what G3 kurz (someone who had worked for HK for over 20 years) told me, the Georgian State Highway Patrol had wandering zeroes with the original sighting interface of the G36 but the problem went away when HK replaced it with an aluminum picatinny rail (IIRC, it was the KAC picatinny rail that replaced the original sighting interface for ...
SL8 custom low profile scope rail | HKPRO Forums
Feb 3, 2009 · When I got my SL8-6 I was unsatisfied with mounting a scope on the rail it came with because it was too high: So I bought a used SL8-1 rail, the goofy long one that sticks out and hacked it down: Then, using "low" scope rings I hacked it further to …
