SR1911 vs. other 1911 pistols - Ruger Forum
Jan 16, 2015 · We have so many 1911 owners on this forum with different views and requirements (maybe competitive shooting, conceal carry, home defense), that you will get plenty of opinions. However, the Colt and the Ruger are the two 1911's that I have chosen. My Colt is a Series 80 and of course the Ruger a Series 70. For my purposes, either series works fine.

Apr 15, 2023 · I have noticed that Ruger now is offering a full size lightweight SR1911 and it is selling for nearly $200 less on the street than the COmmander sized liightweight, yet has the same aluminum lower with titanium feed ramp. A search on Gunbroker lists most Commander sized at over $850 while the...
The 1911 forged vs cast debate - Ruger Forum
Jan 3, 2015 · I was on another forum () and a Ruger SR1911 thread that was generally very pro Ruger devolved into a cast/MIM vs forged general whizzing contest. It was closed with these words by the mod: "Those topics have been beat to death, brought back and beat to death again far too many times. Try...
Sr1911 45 or Colt 1911 45 - Ruger Forum
Feb 15, 2019 · I've owned Ruger, S&W, Sig, Colt, Springfield and Dan Wesson 1911s. Still have a S&W and several DW. I'd gladly own another Ruger SR1911 and Sig 1911. You couldn't give me another Colt and I'm boycotting Springfield. Read into that what you will. The Ruger SR1911 is a great 1911 and for the money an excellent bargain too. I regret trading my ...

SR 1911 lightweight opinions - Ruger Forum
Feb 1, 2024 · It was a nice gun, I love 1911's and it had a nice trigger but all my 1911's are crazy reliable except for that one . Wasn't a total train wreak though, I would still give the SR1911's another shot and if it was a range toy I probably would have looked past it. Perhaps the government size would have less issues. Hope this info helps.
Ruger 1911 Commander 9mm - Front Sight
Feb 1, 2025 · If not, what other tritium sights do others use on their 1911 pistols? Also, what is the correct height for the front sight, for an SR1911 LW Commander 9mm, that was built in 2016? For Self-Defense, I practice the ancient art known as "KLIK-PAO"
Can a red dot be mounted on a 1911? - Ruger Forum
May 17, 2014 · Also, keep in mind that if you go 9mm 1911, which is a limited market, then the "standard 1911" sight mounting options for your red dot may not apply. I'm not so sure a C-more or other brand frame "straddle saddle" mount will fit a narrower EMP style shrunken 1911, nor will the same 1911 mount dovetailed slide mount fit all different brands.
