Oct 27, 2018 · I have a stainless steel Rossi M88 purchased in 1997 that has the ejector rod shrouded. Although not rated for +P ammo, the cylinder bolt cuts on the cylinder are offset so they lie between the chambers (a hallmark of +P models).

Dec 30, 2014 · FYI: The Rossi manual for the 68 and 88 states that +P loads should not be used in their 38 Spl caliber guns. S&W manual for the 36 J-frame also states that ammo designated for "law enforcement" use or "+P" loads should not be used due to possible high pressures exceeding the gun's design.

Apr 10, 2023 · Model 68 is not shown in Rossi catalogs from 1989 and 1995 that I have, only mentioned in factory manuals. Rossi revolvers are not more sold in Brazil since 1998. Post-1998 alterations and models remains unknown here in Brazil. I believe that Rossi considered the Model 68 as a improved version of Model 33.

Mar 15, 2014 · The new Rossi rounded grips arrived today and they fit the older Rossi/Interarms m68 frame perfectly! I did have to drill a couple of 1/32 holes to receive the pegs on the butt of the frame, but that was an incredibly simple step. The grips are comfortable, but the seams don't match up perfectly, making them feel a little cheap.

May 13, 2014 · S&W was owned in that time period by Bangor-Punta who sent S&W engineers to Brazil to assist in production of Rossi guns, so the story goes. Their influence is clearly shown by the J-frame clone. I have both the Rossi 68 and 88, the S&W M36 plus the "38 Spl." I just described. By the way, the Rossi "38 Spl." is a very smooth shooting snubby.

Jul 9, 2022 · Rossi engraved the serial number only after quality control approval. Maybe the original 3" barrel was rejected (accuracy tests), replaced by a 2-inch barrel from Model 27 and, finally, passed the QC and the revolver was finally serial numbered.

Aug 25, 2008 · I have the 461, 6 rd Rossi, 357. But I have found nothing in Kydex holsters seems to fit it. But in Leather, it will fit the same holster as an sp101, Taurus 85, and other ones. I would expect that the M68 is 5 rds so it should fit the J frame, SP101, or 85 holsters too. Fobus does make a holster in kydex for the 5 rd Rossi guns.
